To apply for the DRC Humanitarian Response Roster (formerly known as the Standby Roster), follow these steps:

Application Process

    • The DRC Humanitarian Response Roster typically opens for applications once a year. The recruitment period usually lasts for about 3 weeks. Keep an eye on the DRC website or social media channels for announcements regarding open recruitment periods.
  1. Prepare Required Documents:
    • Updated CV or P11 Form: Ensure your CV is up-to-date and includes all relevant experience and qualifications. The P11 form is also acceptable.
    • Motivational Letter: Write a letter explaining why you are interested in joining the roster and how your skills and experience make you a good fit.
    • Performance Evaluations: If available, include performance evaluations from previous employment.
    • References: Have the names and contact details of references ready, as they may be requested later in the recruitment process.
  2. Register in the Candidate Database:
    • If the roster is not currently open for recruitment, you can register in the DRC Candidate Database to express your interest. This does not guarantee membership but keeps you informed about future openings.
    • Go to the DRC website and navigate to the registration page. Select ‘non-member’ and register using a different email address if you are already a member of another DRC Roster.
    • Upload your updated CV or P11 form in English and ensure your contact information is correct.
  3. Apply Through the DRC Online Application System:
    • When the roster is open for recruitment, visit the DRC website and navigate to the online vacancies application system.
    • Upload all required documents (updated CV/P11, motivational letter, performance evaluations) through the system.
  4. Screening and Assessment:
    • After the application deadline, DRC will review and screen all applicants. Shortlisted candidates may be asked to undertake a written test.
    • Candidates who pass the test will be invited for an online interview. The interview will explore your knowledge of the technical area, humanitarian emergency programming, and personal motivation for joining the roster.
    • References provided by the candidate will be contacted by email during the recruitment process.
