UNICEF’s Education Cannot Wait (ECW) initiative is offering several internship opportunities in New York, designed for individuals passionate about making a lasting impact on children’s education in emergency situations.
Support to the Executive Office Internship
ECW is seeking two interns for a two-month full-time position from June to July 2025. These interns will assist the Executive Office, led by the ECW Director and Deputy Director, in tasks such as researching and engaging new donors, particularly foundations and high-net-worth individuals. Responsibilities include developing action plans for donor partnerships and collaborating with various ECW teams to prepare briefings and talking points on topics like youth empowerment and education during crises.
Applicants should be enrolled in or have recently completed undergraduate or graduate studies in fields like International Relations, Development, Humanitarian Affairs, Political Science, Education, or related areas. Proficiency in English and strong organizational and communication skills are required. The internship offers a monthly stipend of $1,700. Applications are open until March 24, 2025.
Advocacy Communication Internship
ECW is also recruiting two interns for a six-month full-time position to join the Advocacy & Communications Section. Under the guidance of the ECW Director and the Chief of Advocacy/Communications, interns will support the development and implementation of ECW’s strategic advocacy and communication plans. This includes tasks such as drafting content, assisting in campaign planning, and engaging with stakeholders to promote ECW’s mission.
Candidates should be enrolled in or have recently completed studies in Communications, Journalism, International Relations, or related fields, with excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Fluency in English is essential, and knowledge of additional UN languages is a plus. The position offers a monthly stipend of $1,700, and applications are due by March 24, 2025.
